Accessibility & Assistance Animals Policy
The Apex Voyager India is committed to making the Himalayas accessible to every traveler. From certified service animals to on-ground support, our partner stays, hotels, and transport across Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, and Uttarakhand are held to a single standard: equal access, without exception.
1. Service Animals vs. Pets
Certified guide dogs and trained service animals assisting guests with disabilities are recognised as working animals, not pets. They are welcome across our partner homestays, hotels, and transport vehicles free of any pet fee or breed restriction that might otherwise apply.
Emotional support animals are treated differently from certified service animals under Indian law and may be subject to individual property policies — see the guidelines below before you book.
2. Legal Framework in India
This policy is framed in line with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016, which mandates equal access, non-discrimination, and reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities across public services, transport, and hospitality establishments in India.

3. Guidelines for Travelers
Give prior notice
Mountain homestays often have limited rooms and staff. Let us know at least 48 hours before check-in if you're travelling with a service animal, so your host can prepare a comfortable arrangement.
Carry documentation
Where a property or transport provider requests it, carry your service animal's certification or a treating physician's note. This helps our partners verify and accommodate you quickly.
