The story
Discover Naggar
Naggar was the capital of the Kullu kingdom for centuries before the seat moved to Kullu and later Sultanpur. The castle built here around 1460 CE by Raja Sidh Singh survived the 1905 earthquake through its earthquake-resistant Kath-Kuni construction, and now runs as a heritage hotel. Above it, the Russian painter Nicholas Roerich lived from 1928 until his death in 1947; his estate is now an art museum.
