Rewalsar Lake — known as Tso Pema, the "Lotus Lake," to Tibetan Buddhists — is ringed by temples, monasteries and a gurdwara belonging to three different faiths. Buddhist tradition holds that Guru Padmasambhava meditated here before travelling to Tibet; the Gurdwara Rewalsar Sahib honours a visit by Guru Gobind Singh; and Hindu tradition associates the site with the sage Lomas.
