- The Valley of Flowers is typically open only around July–September (flowering season and park opening dates vary year to year and must be confirmed, not assumed); Hemkund Sahib's own season is similar. Outside this window neither is accessible.
- Accommodation
- Standard hotel/guesthouse or equivalent in Joshimath; basic trek-lodge/guesthouse accommodation in Ghangaria for the trek nights — genuinely basic, operationally appropriate trek-base lodging, never described as "Deluxe".
