Discover Badrinath
Badrinath sits at the head of the Alaknanda valley, its temple's brightly painted facade set against bare mountain slopes at over 3,000 metres. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and traditionally linked to Adi Shankaracharya, it is one of the four Uttarakhand Char Dham and, unlike Kedarnath or Yamunotri, reached entirely by road — the drive beyond Joshimath is the destination's main physical challenge, not a trek. The temple opens for only about half the year; the rest of the time the valley sits under snow. Mana, a short drive further on and often described as the last village on this route, adds a second, quieter layer to a visit here.
